Tell us a bit about what you appreciate about them as an RCB: Coastline Neighbors was nominated for United Way of Southwestern Oregon’s 2021 Community Celebration, where we asked the south coast community to submit entries of nonprofits and community organizations that have gone above and beyond over the last year. In the words of the person nominating Coastline Neighbors, “[They] did not want to abandon the elderly population at a time when this population would need help to not be isolated and alone even more… Monthly cards were mailed to members, monthly delivers of balloons, goodie bags, and good cheer were made, weekly phone calls to check on members, click-it pick-up grocery service provided, and essential doctor appointment drivers were still provided. At a time when many seniors could feel lonely, forgotten, isolated, Coastline Neighbors made sure its members were not alone.” In our words, Pattie has been a constant presence on south coast community calls, not only encouraging folks to utilize (and volunteer to support) their services but also asking how Coastline Neighbors could help their community partners.
