Tell us a bit about what you appreciate about them as an RCB: Sarah moved to the Applegate Valley a year and a half ago after purchasing an 8-acre piece of land that she intended to develop into a flower farm and private event space. Upon meeting with local community members and community-based organizations, asking advice and hearing about the community’s needs and desires, Sarah didn’t hesitate to throw her energy into organizing and hosting what is now known as the Applegate Evening Market. In Sarah’s words the Applegate Evening Market “evolved naturally into more than just a Farmers Market and much more than I could have ever imagined. With live music, food trucks, and local vendors, so many look forward to this fun family-friendly event every week, which brings the community together while supporting our local farmers and businesses”. Sarah is a perfect representation of a Rural Community Builder because she recognized a need, offered the resources she had in a big way and collaborated with the community to create something that has become so special to everyone. Sarah brings life to the valley through her youthful spirit and passion for raising her young son amongst the flowers!
